Abstract

The present article aims to reflect on how contemporary ethics and morals are reflected in the speeches about violence related to games, being part of a research in process that has as its theme the violence in games from the perspective of the effects of meaning in the discourse of players. Some examples of banned games banned for being considered outrageous were rescued, and others whose violence is accepted and even desirable. Han Byung-Chul (2017) is used as a theoretical basis to understand the transformations of the manifestations of violence nowadays. Gilles Lipovetsky and Yves La Taille are also referenced to support deliberations about the panorama of contemporary society. To deal with the game as a motivator of a feeling of tension and joy, it is based on the ideas of Johan Huizinga (1999).
