Gender relations in "Daniel Case": stereotypes and similar in journalistic and legal discourses
Abstract
From gender as an analytical category, the text discusses the gender relationship in the articles produced by the G1 portal about the "Caso Daniel," which were broadcast from November 2018 to November 2019, with the figure of Cristiana Brittes as a cutout. The theoretical foundation comprises the understandings of power, discourse, and truth designed by Michel Foucault in dialogue with feminist theories. The article intends to elucidate how the journalism discourse, to a large extent, meets the legal discourse by promoting the lack of subjectivation and neglect of the condition of women in the coverage of the respective case, promoting stereotypes and symbolic violence against the female gender.
