On the opposite way of a constant connection: a bibliographic review on the digital detox phenomenon
Abstract
Although not a universal reality, the internet access has grown in Brazil in recent years, allowing the dissolution of geographical barriers and access to information. However, the will to reduce the consumption of the internet and screens still makes up the desires of some individuals. This lifestyle is seen as being marked by the phenomenon of digital detox, as observed by some researchers (SYVERTSEN et al., 2019). The motivations for a less connected life are different. Therefore, this article aims to carry out an overview of the phenomenon and its derivations, in order to analyze how it has been observed and/or ignored by scientific scene in different knowledge areas. Throughout this panorama, it is clear that some perspectives stand out in scientific productions, such as work, productivity, health, inequality and authenticity.
