Abstract

This article investigates aspects of the market relations, historical culture and teaching of history from the case of the Japanese mangá Eternal zero (Eien no zero, in the original), initially published between 2014 and 2015, in five volumes, authored by Naoki Hyakuta and Souichi Sumoto. This manga uses the context of World War II as the central chronological mark for its plot. The analysis was made through taking the concept of historical culture by Jörn Rüsen as guideline. The main objective was to explore the comic books both as element of public use of historical knowledge and as convergence of memories, histories and entertainment.
