Comic books’ characters and tattoos’ consumption.
Abstract
This article aims to treat the consumption of tattoos related to comic book characters and the appropriation of their image to transmit symbolic representations. The culture of the consumption of tattoos and the literature of consumer behavior were used as the theoretical axis of development of the work. The main objective of the study is to verify how the comic characters influence the consumption of tattoos, and as a secondary objective to identify some of the behaviors and discourses of the consumers. The methodological course of the work counts on an exploratory qualitative research with interviews with tattoo artists and tattooed in São Paulo. The main results showed that the culture of comic consumption is already represented in the form of tattoos, directing buying behaviors that are linked to belonging; distinction and lifestyle.
