Local History in the initial series of the municipality of Irati – Paraná

Abstract

Local History is important in valuing collective memories and rescuing stories that are forgotten to the detriment of official history. For a long time, the stories learned and perpetuated were only those of municipal leaders, of heroes; that is, ordinary subjects remained silenced. With this in mind, the present work is justified, the result of a doctoral project im Education, which is in its initial phase. Starting from concepts and issues that relate to Local History, the aim is to understand the perspectives of local history present in the early years of elementary school in the municipaly of Irati, Paraná. In this work, we will present the theorical assumptions, since empirical research has not yet begun. To this end, the authors who will serve as theoretical support in Local History are: Pierre Goubert (1988), Raphael Samuel (1990) and José D´Assunção Barros (2010, 2022). To discuss History Teaching in the initial years, we will rely on: Guimarães (2017), Bittencourt (2018), Luporini and Urban (2015), Cooper (2006, 2012) and Schmidt and Cainelli (2004). We believe that this study proposal becomes important as it will be useful for future research that seeks to understand where Local History is located in history teaching in the city of Irati an how teachers teach and understand this teaching proposal.

Doutor em Educação pela Universidade Federal do Paraná (UFPR). Professor Associado e pesquisador do Departamento de História e do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação e do Programa de Pós-Graduação em História, da Universidade Estadual do Centro-Oeste, campus Irati, na mesma instituição coordena o Laboratório de Ensino de História (LEHIS), também é pesquisador do Laboratório de Pesquisa em Educação Histórica (LAPEDUH), articulado ao Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação da Universidade Federal do Paraná.
